Back In Business

Do you ever have days where you feel like you're going a little insane trying to figure someone out? And maybe you're upset for caring. But there's a reason for everything.

so I ask you one question:
Before you go lashing out at a friend or giving someone the silent treatment for the way they've been acting, at least let them know why; give them a chance to explain or change. As much as I love theatre, I hate drama. Why end things without trying to fix them first?
Whatever the deal is, this bitch is back.

Until New York

TIM HAMILTON'S NEW COLLECTION FOR WOMEN?

PERFECTION.

Hey guys! I found this old post in the NEW Blogger Interface. I still standby the statement made above, even if all black isn't my style anymore

Hey readers, I apologize for the lack of posting, but I have been sick with mono and some other nasty virus for a while now, and have been hibernating whilst feeling blah. :/ Today is the first day I've gotten out of bed for longer than going to the bathroom, but in between swallowing meds and silly fevers, I did a little reading and wanted to share some of my finds with you! Check out these websites for some kinky inspiration or a must have!

Cold Breeze

I know I shouldn't be so excited to go shopping for sweaters...But I just can't help myself. I have a need to snuggle up in some over sized knits.

I've always planned not to get married, but if I ever do, this is sooooo my wedding dress

Like a Canary

Summer's come and gone, but that doesn't mean I want to start changing colors with the leaves. I keep my summer clothes close at hand, thanking God there's still a heat advisory. If I shut my eyes, maybe I can pretend it's still summer.

I Think I'm In Love...

Heavy Machine

Iris Van Herpen X United Nude

FINSK

GAHHHH meet my current top 3 dream shoes. I love the abstractness of the first and last and the metallic leather draping on the second. To put it simply, I think I'm in love!

Too Old

Emporio Armani

Diane Von Furstenburg

Bottega Veneta

I don't know about you, but I have never aspired to look like my grandmother. Not that I don't love her, but I prefer not to age myself sixty-five years. So why does the world of fashion want us to look like a group of old biddies?

At first look, Bottega Veneta's fall ready to wear collection is 'inspired' by the sixties, updated by new textures and fabrics. But after a full perusal, it seems as if Tomas Maier took a trip through his grandmother's closet. It was a line up of turtlenecks, suits reminiscent of old Chanel, and little girl white tights. Now, I know that Tavi brought about the 'little girl gone old' mentality, but seriously. I enjoy being seventeen (almost legal, baby!).

So thank god for Diane Von Furstenburg, and especially Emporio Armani. They realize that not every girl wants to look like a woman past her prime. The clothes are modern, sophisticated, and have a touch of humor. Everything mixes textiles and patterns to look very young and fresh. I know it's in a darker palette for fall, but come on. I certainly don't want to wear a cotton candy pink turtleneck. But hey, that's just me.

What do you think? Is it time to grow up or do you embrace your age?

P.S. I've been having some computer trouble, so please bare with me on the small photos and time in between posts.

Let Your Hair Down

You've heard many a-time: what goes around comes around, particularly in fashion. This season is no different, with 70s inspired looks ruling the runways. Chloe seemed to take a cue from Marc Jacobs a few seasons past and created oddly shaped pants with enough volume to hide a small elephant paired with a pee-yellow button down. Normally I'm a huge fan of Hannah MacGibbons (Chloe's head designer) for her soft take on the 70s. In previous seasons her neutral colors and attention to detail elevated the collection from thrift store wanna-bees. But it seems that she's lost her love of subtlety, and wants to hit the consumer over the head with her intention. She might as well have thrown on some printed patches and called it a day.

Despite my bashing, I really do love this new look in fashion. The 70s had a wonderful bohemian sophistication; the women never seemed as if they were trying. "Yes, Darling. I just threw this on and am this fabulous." Maybe it's because the 70s had some of the most flattering fits and cuts of any era. Because jeans were flared, hips looked smaller in comparison. Because shirts were looser on top or had bell sleeves, those of us with little chest had something to distract from our lack of cleavage.

I now find myself scouring vintage stores for 70s clothing or 70s inspired clothing. I love how something as simple as a white button down becomes transformed with large sleeve or an embellishment. I feel the whole point of the 70s was not to look 'done'. Naturally beautiful, age appropriate, and always stylish was the name of the game.

What do you think? Are you loving the 70s or do you want to send the Disco back where it belongs?
