Taking a Breather

Alright, so posting has been suuuper slow, I know. But put up with me for a little bit, because I decided that anytime I'll be posting that each post should be quality. Unfortunately, that doesn't come as easy for as it does, Tavi or Jane Aldridge. But hey, no one's naming names...
I want to thank everyone who has supported this website, it means so much. Unfortunately, I'm going through some things right now, and I'm not working at 100%. More like a weak twenty, to be perfectly honest. So to everyone who's stuck with me and rooted for me, thank you.

Lust List

Lust List

I'm Alive, Get Me Out of Here

I'm just ready for an escape. Planes, trains, automobiles, anything to take a vacation like no one has ever experienced. I'm ready for something exciting, something that brings about butterflies in my stomach and makes me worry I'm making a mistake. I would rather have an adventure and regret it than sit home and never live.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

Double Trouble

Two dresses. Both equal in beauty, both versatile, both affordable. But one was ruffled in a soft pastel and other a deep black, just a simple jersey blend. Each said something different about the girl holding them. One asked for soft waves and a boyfriend, the other for vampy lips and a biker bag. As the girl holding both dresses, I was confused. Why should I be so stuck? They're just dresses. But they called to different wants, different wishes. And I always felt that girls with true style played in one zone: girly or rock'n'roll, that's what made their fashion sense and so relatable. You went to them for one specific style to inspire you in a certain way. But all of us constantly fight with ourselves. Whether it's finding the balance between a school and social life, independence from parents, or just the perfect dress that encompasses tough and pretty, it's like an internal monologue that never ends.
Now I'm not talking about going crazy and having split personalities, just finding the happy medium.

What about you? Did you find your style or just be able to keep the scale even with school and life?

Chics, man

Girls. I know we talk about this all the time, but I don't understand why we're so mean to each other. Unlike boys, we decide to lie and hide our true feelings, only to gossip behind each others' backs. We could just say how we really feel or speak clearly or even through a punch. But we need to 'talk' things out. Because females aren't physical, they're supposed to be feminine. Let me just say that I don't see any guys crying and blubbering on. I would rather have a black eye and have all the drama over with.

So these photos. These women are chic, they're clothes are easy and seemingly effortless. I can't imagine being friends with them. Going to Fashion's Night Out (pictures to come), shopping in New York, and hanging out in hipster night clubs until 5 in the morning. Oh, I guess I can imagine. But there is definitely a reason why my best friend is a boy. We can talk about almost everything (besides boyfriends, but hey, that's fair) and we're completely honest with each other. Recently we've been spending all our time together and began fighting. Snarky comments are not really equivalent with guys, but that's my fault. I think I introduced him to some nasty sarcasm. But in the end he pointed out how rude I was being (and I might have said something back to that) and we were able to laugh it off. I don't think that any girl could do that.

So thank you bestie (yes, I know you probably don't want to be called that). I can't be anymore sappy or cliche than that or you might punch me. And I'm too girly to take that.

Virgo Girl

Hey readers! So today I turn 17, and I just want to say that I.FEEL.OLD, but my friends and family have really made this the best one yet :). Presents opening is going on in a few minutes, and I'm excited to see what I have to share with you all! I know most of them already since I picked a lot myself, but for now I'll say a few; some really cool earrings and a pair of equestrian boots, as well as these sunglasses from my aunt (which are coming in the mail but have not arrived yet; I LOVE THEM THOUGH). They look like they've come straight out of the 60's! I promise to post pictures of presents etc. tomorrow afternoon, but I at least wanted to give you this:
My astrological sign, the virgo, is usually depicted as on the smart and shy side, but what I like about our kind is that we know how to work a simple style, as well as be courageous and try new ideas and trends. Here are a few virgos I want to recognize:

For starters, there's Astraea, the original virgo herself

And of course Cameron Diaz (on the cover of the UK's July vogue)

And the talented Alexander Skarsgard as well
