Lookalike Dakota

Hey all! So sorry I haven't posted in forever, long story short-the thingy I use to upload photos broke :( so I finally bought a new one, just before I went away to Michigan to my Grandpa's...who, of course, has no internet. Anyways, I'm back now and here's a little something I wanted to put up about one of my favorite girls, Dakota Fanning! I was looking thru the December/January Teen Vogue magazine for which, as Purple Boot posted, she was the covergirl for, and I saw her is this blue dress-it looked familiar, and I realized I had recently gotten one just like it! The big difference? Mine was A LOT cheaper :) xoxo CB

Wow! I'm so excited that you guys are asking us to update more! I'm sorry we've been so behind, but both the Cocoa Boot and I are in a musical where the rehearsals suck away all our time. But we love that you care, and so we bring you...

Photos that have been my inspiration for the fall. A medley of pictures that showcase the joy, experimentation, and sadness that we ride like a roller coaster as teenagers.

Watch Your Fangs

With New Moon tomorrow, I thought it appropriate to post Dakota Fanning's Teen Vogue. In the new movie she plays Jane, a vampire with a thirst for inflicting excruciating mental pain on her victims. Dakota herself has come such a long way from the cute, neurotic little girl we remember from Uptown Girls. Personally, I'm excited to see more of her in the future. She's grown up into a really poised and model-worthy (not to mention stylish) actress!

I'm not going to talk about how jealous I am of her success, but I will say I might throw popcorn at the screen when she comes on....Out of...love....

Minnie Mouse

Skirt, Top, and Belt- Vintage
Boots-Steve Madden

While I complaint my lack of sense when it comes to the opposite sex, I will throw on a short skirt and a tall pair of boots. While I worry about whether or not I am this, that, and the other thing, I will make pouty faces hoping to attract at least a frog.

All we talk about all day long, is boys. We stare at them, lust for them, can't help but think about them. But ladies,

he is not worth it.

Anyways, I have my first speech competition coming up, wish me luck! I'll be waking up at 5:30 in the morning on a Saturday while the rest of you are tucked in bed. Thank your lucky stars that you never considered acting...

Scarf Top

Introducing our new art director and photographer!

On our left we have C, a spunky Londoner who loves fashion almost as much as me. With an eye for juxtaposition C can mix a pair of cropped motorcycle booties and a flimsy dress to look like a super model.

To the right is R, the best photographer in the Midwest. Having actually taken photography classes, she is far superior to myself and my mother. R can take an ordinary point and shoot camera and create pieces of art.

Today's Outfit post:

Blazer-Von Maur
Scarf- New York
Skirt- H&M
Bag-Fendi
All vintage jewelry

DIY Scarf Top:
This top is easy and perfect for adding texture underneath a blazer, going out to a party, or looking like a cowgirl (all depending on what kind of scarf you use).

*I took a scarf with texture and color to brighten up a very monotone outfit. For a party, use a neon scarf, preferably with no fringe to create a handkerchief top. Metallics also create a festive air. Please refrain from using a bandanna; no one wants to see that much of you, or think you came from the Wild, Wild West.

*This look could not be simpler, take two edges of the top, folding it so that you create a large triangle. Take those ends and tie them in a tight knot behind your back. Voila!

Torn in Teal

Continuing the fall transition, the new color of choice is green-warm and earthy, green is making its way through celebrities and runways to us; to our clothes, to our nails, to our jewelry and even homes, green is the way to go. Not to mention its the universal color for the environment! So when you plan out your winter wardrobe, go green by adding hints of it to your outfits with nail polish, or going all out with green jackets, sweatshirts, and-if you find the right pair-pants!
I also haveee to comment on the reason I even bought this shirt--the back! The Purple Boot and I often discuss our love for detailed backs, (she gives a much better explanation for this love than I do) and I loved the simple T look of the front that prevents distraction from the viewer, keeping the focus on the ripped, artsy slits.
